Find what matters.
Make it worth sharing.
I build websites. But the work starts with a question: what makes this business, this place, or this mission worth caring about?

People first.
Then the possibilities.
I’m based in Tiskilwa, Illinois. My work has taken me through community development, nonprofit turnarounds, real estate and financial services, organic food, and regenerative agriculture and agritourism.
The subjects change. The questions keep coming back. What are people trying to do? Why would someone choose this organization? What is getting in the way? And where could a little imagination make a real difference?
I studied sociology at Yale. That interest in people: how we make choices, form relationships and build communities: still shapes the way I work. I want to understand the people behind a business and the people it hopes to reach.
That’s why I start a website with conversation. Before choosing a font or writing a headline, I want to find the thing that makes your work yours.
THE SAME CURIOSITY, IN DIFFERENT SETTINGS
See the value.
Help people see it, too.
KALONA SUPERNATURAL / MARKETINGA technical detail can be the story.
Low-temperature pasteurization and non-homogenization sound technical. At Kalona SuperNatural, where I served as Director of Marketing, I saw production choices that people wanted to understand.
Growing interest in raw milk offered a way into that conversation. Kalona’s milk was pasteurized. The opportunity was to explain its different approach clearly and help people recognize the value already there.
NONPROFITS / PURPOSE & PRACTICEA mission needs a practical plan.
My nonprofit reorganization work brought communications, fundraising, programs, staffing and budgets into the same conversation.
A mission has to guide daily choices: what we do, who does it, and how we pay for it. I look for the places those pieces have drifted apart, then help people agree on the work that matters next.
FINANCIAL EDUCATION / USEFUL EXPLANATIONSComplexity needs a way through.
In real estate and financial services, I’ve worked with websites, video and written education to help people understand unfamiliar subjects. At IvyWest Financial, which I co-founded, my work included marketing and client education.
The format follows the question. Sometimes a useful explanation needs a video. Sometimes it needs a book. A website should help someone find the next step that makes sense to them.
FARMS & AGRITOURISM / THE WHOLE EXPERIENCEThe story has to hold up when people arrive.
Farm hospitality brings marketing and operations together. A place can offer fresh air, a different pace, and time with people. The welcome, pricing and everyday details need to support that promise.
My farmstay work connected guest experience with marketing and practical models for pricing, occupancy and costs. I care about both the reason someone wants to come and the work that makes the visit good.
KALONA REGENERATIVE NETWORK / BUILDING SOMETHING TOGETHERA mission needs people around it.
I helped start Kalona Regenerative Network, built its first website, and contributed imagery and messaging. That work brought nonprofit launch, community relationships and communications together around a shared purpose.
It’s another way I can help: clarify what an organization is here to do, connect people around it, and create the first materials that help others understand and take part.

MORE ROOM FOR THE HUMAN PART
Automate what we can.
Spend time with people.
I don’t believe in wasting money, physical energy or emotional energy on things that don’t matter. Stewardship means caring for the resources an organization depends on: its land, money, relationships, and people’s attention.
I use AI and automation to help with research, organizing information, preparing content and repetitive work. A person still needs to check the evidence, decide what matters and take responsibility for the result.
The point is to free time for face-to-face connection and creative thinking. The tools should make room for more of the work that needs a person.
WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOUR WEBSITE
Your uniqueness.
A useful next step.
I can help find: or create and focus on: what makes your business different. Then we turn that into clear words, a distinctive visual direction, and a site that helps people understand what you offer and reach you.
Sometimes the conversation goes further: a partnership, a cooperative promotion, a donor relationship, or a bottleneck that needs attention. We can work out what would be useful before deciding how much to build.
